Climate Change: Impacts, Costs and Adaptation in the Baltic Sea Region

The goal of BaltCICA is the assessment of future disturbances resulting from climate change, as well as the development, evaluation, and implementation of various forms of adaptation measures ranging from the structural to the organizational and institutional. Calculating the costs of rising sea levels through high water risk scenarios is also as much a part of this work as developing comprehensive concepts for adaptation and demonstrating their use in various case studies.

Tasks of the EUCC-D: Development and implementation of adaptation measures on the regional effects of climate change concerning tourism and beach management on the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, mutual development of an exhibition on the topic, project meetings, and regular distribution of project information.

Duration: February 2009 through January 2012.

Funding Partner: European Commission (Baltic Sea Region Programme)
